Flood Control

Agencies are often called upon to control rising flood waters.  The traditional control method is sand bags.  Their emplacement is slow and extremely labour intensive.  The MRP Systems portable shield blocks can be used to effectively contain limited areas of flood waters.  They can be rapidly deployed and placed with a minimum commitment of manpower and equipment.  Once in the field, they can be filled with the most abundant material available - water.  If lateral stabilisation is required, it can be achieved either by structurally linking the blocks or by placing filled blocks in "T" arrangements.  When the situation is secured, the blocks can be drained and returned to storage for re-use.
