Cost Effectiveness

The MRP modular radiation protection system is a cost-effective method for providing shielding in many nuclear applications. The principle cost-saving attributes of the system are:

	The system can be erected rapidly. This saves labour and equipment charges during mobilisation.
	Similarly, the system can be demobilised rapidly and with a minimum of man and machine effort.
	The only secondary wastes routinely anticipated from using the blocks are protective clothing and strippable coating, if used. The speed of mobilisation and demobilisation reduces the quantity of protective clothing involved.
	The blocks can be reused. The need for re-acquisition of shielding systems is eliminated.
